8 Reasons To Watch The Grammys Today

grammys-ll-cool-j
It’s Grammy time once again and boy are we excited! While this year, no singular artiste or album has enjoyed the brilliant dominance Adele and her ‘21’ album did last year, there is still plenty to look forward to.
We bring you 8 cool reasons to stay up for the 55th annual Grammy awards, broadcast Sunday night, live from the Staples centre in L.A.
Toni Braxton
Grammy wardrobe advisory
Some of the weirdest and nudest fashion seen on the world stage has been debuted live on the Grammy red carpet. Lil Kim, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Toni Braxton have all been guilty at one point or the other. So this year, CBS has taken the bull by the horns and issued a strict ‘wardrobe advisory’ banning the baring of nipples, breasts, buttocks and buttock curves. Are they trying to keep Lady Gaga away? Now what will she wear?

Chris Brown and Rihanna
In 2009, Breezy and RiRi were pop’s golden couple until the eve of Grammy night when he left her bruised and battered in a car park. 4 years later and they are back in each other’s arms with Rihanna telling Rolling Stones magazine that if their reunion is a mistake, then it is her mistake. Will they attend as a couple? And what about Karrueche Tran? We cant wait to see.
Chris Brown and Frank Ocean
What is it with Mr Brown? A few days back, Chris and R&B singer Frank Ocean were involved in a public brawl  outside a recording studio reportedly over parking space. On Sunday night, they will do another sort of battle as both their albums are nominated in the Best Urban Contemporary album category. Mr Ocean is highly favoured to emerge victorious but can Brown pull off a surprise win? Only one way to find out.
Tonto Dikeh may show up
Ok we are just kidding! But we still cannot get over Omotola’s Grammy appearance from two year’s back. Having recently launched a much talked about music career, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Ms Dikeh at this year’s ceremonies. And lets face it, if there is any person who can go one further and actually secure entrance into the main hall, it would be Miss #Poko.
Musical collaborations
Only the Grammys know how to bring the most magical music collaborations. Last year, we saw Rihanna and Coldplay performing live while Sir Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteeen and Dave Grohl jammed us up in a sizzling finale .This year promises Sir Elton John together with Ed Sheeran and Mumford & sons.  There is Alicia Keys  alongside Maroon 5 and of course; the strangely exciting mash up of Sting, Bruno Mars and Rihanna. Fingers crossed.
fun grammy
Wide open field.
While it was clear last season Adele was the woman to beat, this year holds no such dominance. With Jay-Z, Mumford& Sons, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, The Black keys and fun. all sharing top honors, the nominees list is as diverse as it is competitive and any one artist could emerge winner. May the best  artiste win.
LL Cool J returns as host.
After 7 years without a host, the Grammys invited rapper LL Cool J to perform hosting duties and he handled it so well, they are inviting him for a second straight year. Will he sail or will he flop?
Nas 3
Nas could make history.
Will you be watching when acclaimed rapper Nas finally wins his first Grammy? We agree this is one of music’s true tragedies; that after being crowned the greatest rapper alive by various credible sources and 9 previous nominations, Nas is yet to win a Grammy. Hopefully that will be resolved Sunday night as he wins one or all of the four categories he is nominated in.
You have any more reasons? let me know
