(NEWS): APC war: “We will expose their game plan” – ACN

\

As the acronym of the newly-formed political party, All Progressives Congress, APC, continues
to generate controversy, the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN has vowed to exposed the ongoing secret plans between the presidency and the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC against the new coalition.
According to the National Publicity Secretary of ACN, Lai Mohammed, his party would ensure that the presidency and INEC are exposed on the matter.
He said: “They were rattled. I mean the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the presidency. We would not allow them to intimidate us. The law is clear. INEC cannot claimed to have registered those parties they said are laying claims to the acronyms of APC within a week.”

We have more to tell Nigerians and at the appropriate time, we would expose their game plan. The INEC is waiting until such a time they would now say, okay, let all the three parties jettison the acronym of APC as a result of crisis at hand. Political party registration process is not the same as that of merger arrangement, even the illiterates know that.”
Reacting to the development, the National Chairman of United Peoples Party, UPP, Chief Chekwas Okorie flayed those behind the APC merger, saying; “This has shown that they are political neophytes. Let them consult me and I will teach them the ABC of party registration.”
“You don’t go to the public and start announcing the name of a party like that without backing yourself with relevant documents committing INEC to it. They should have known that the PDP were not sleeping and that they would want to scuttle the merger. It is a pity they may have to start all over again. From indices, they were not prepared for the merger which was why UPP can’t be part of them,” he said.
APC is a merger platform formed by the Action Congress of Nigeria ,CAN, Congress for Progressives Change, CPC, and All Nigeria Peoples Party,ANPP.
At the moment, African Peoples Congress and All Patriotic Citizens have submitted letters of intent to be registered as political parties. According to the INEC, both are laying claims to APC as their acronyms.
