A female corper, Ms. Tolu Ekundayo of Batch A in Ogun State has reportedly been decamped for refusing to wear a pair of trousers in the Shagamu Orientation Camp, as is the custom with the NYSC programme.
According to a press conference by Ms. Ekundayo's church, Faith Revival Apostolic Church in Lagos, it was said that Ms. Tolu was asked to leave the camp by the NYSC coordinator on the 8th of March, at about 2300 hours, for refusal to put on trousers as it was against her religious belief.
"I call on Nigerians, mostly Christians that stand for the truth, not only to jointly condemn this barbaric and bestial act but to engage in constructive dialogue with the concerned authority for the change of such policy if it is official,"
Although she tried to explain why she was reluctant to wear trousers, her explanation fell on deaf ears and was left at the mercy of God at such an ungodly hour, outside the Orientation Camp.
