(GENGE GIST): NSCDC Arrests 62 Fake Corpers in Nassarawa State


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp are sure on top of their core duty as it has arrested sixty-two corp members suspected to be fake in Nassarawa State as it issued a warning to unsuspecting members of the public to be wary of persons claiming to be officials of the National Youth Service Corps as such persons are only out to defraud them.While parading the fake sixty-one corp members in Keffi; Nasarawa State the state commandant of the Corp, Mr Amos Andekin said efforts are being made to fish out all fake corp members and their sponsors.He said the sixty-two suspected fake Corp members arrested on the outskirt of the Nasarawa State will be dealt with according to the law.The 62 suspected fake corps members were nabbed at an illegal orientation camp.

Explaining how the arrest of the fake corp members came about, Amos said acting on information dissipated the men under his command, stormed the fake orientation camp and arrested the fake corps members near Government Secondary School, Tammah in Nasarawa L.G.A.

Most of who claimed to have graduated from the University of Jos Consultancy programmes, had confessed to the crime.


The suspected fake corps members had converged on Mararaba before being transported in three buses to the hidden camp in Nasarawa Local Government.


According to the fake corp members comprising of 44 females and 18 males after interrogation, each person parted with an amount ranging from N120, 000 and N200, 000 before admittance into the camp and according to Mr Amos,the person behind this illegal orientation camp is presently at large but he was quick to inform us that the command has gotten first-hand information on how track the coordinator down.
