First Lady, Patience Jonathan flown to Germany for medical check-up

First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has been flown to Germany for medical check-up according to presidency sources.
The First Lady had last year been in the European country for an extended period of time with many believing she was there to nurse an undisclosed ailment.
Her media handlers, however, maintained that she was just out of the country for “a moment’s rest” considering the stressful nature of her itinerary at that period of time.
She finally returned to the country on October 14, 2012 looking well enough.
With regards to her travel to Germany on Monday, a presidency source reportedly said, “You will recall that since she returned last year, madam has not travelled out of the country. This trip is just for a check-up, nothing more. Any report that she had been hurriedly flown abroad is far from the truth.”
The President’s wife had to cancel a thanksgiving service and reception she initially planned in honour of former Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa and ex-National Security Adviser Andrew Azazi, and others, who died in a helicopter crash in Bayelsa State on December 15.
An official statement regarding her latest trip to Germany is yet to be made public.
