WHY? Man Sneaks Into 5-Year Old Girl’s Room While Asleep And Defiles Her

Coming on the heels of Osun state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Adetoun Adegboyega’s denial that she advocated castration for rapists among other stiffer penalties in a bill on rape before the Osun House of Assembly, a five-year-old girl in Osogbo, Osun state capital, has been defiled by a middle-aged man, names withheld.
The suspect allegedly raped the girl around 6:30a.m. near Salvation Army Primary School, Oke-Fia area of the city at the weekend.
Narrating how the unfortunate incident happened, mother of the girl,  Romoke, said she left the girl alone asleep in the room, to go fetch water from the next building.
But while she was away, albeit briefly, the suspect had sneaked into her room and had carnal knowledge of her little daughter.
The shocked mother returned to her room only to catch the suspect in the act and she raised the alarm, a development which attracted other neighbours, who intervened and assisted in apprehending the suspect.
The act was later reported to the police and the little girl was taken to Osun State Police command clinic for medical attention.
Confirming the development to newsmen, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Folasade Odoro, said that the minor was receiving medical treatment and that investigation was already on over the incident, while she urged parents to always ensure security of their children in the state.
