Omotola
Jalade-Ekeinde needs no formal introduction but perhaps film maker, Obi
Emelonye does – he is the award winning director/producer of the
spectacular movie ‘Last Flight To Abuja.’ The movie first came to
limelight when it reportedly grossed more than N8 million in its first
week at the cinema.
The
movie, which stars the likes of Hakeem Kae Kazeem, Jim Iyke, Jide
Kosoko and others, is still showing at the cinema and has already raked
in not less than N24 million, to break the record of ebbing the highest
box office earner this year.
For
Omosexy, this year has been one of her busiest moments in the industry.
She has not only starred in quite a number of big-budget movies, she
has equally taken her talent beyond the shores of this country. At the
last count, she starred in Ties That Bind alongside Hollywood’s
Kimberley Elise, Kofi Adjorlolo, Ama K, Khareemar Aguiar among others.
She
was also in Tarila Thompson’s “Up Creek”, Teco Benson’s “Blood on the
Lagoon” which is currently in post production and “Amina”, starring
alongside British actor Wil Johnson and Vincent Regan.
To
cap an eventful and rewarding year, the actress was recently awarded
with the BEFFTA Film Icon for her contribution to the film industry in
Africa, Europe and globally – a feat that makes her the first ever
African so honored.
